You’re busy—I get it. So here’s the short version:
Girl Trips is for women 45+ who want to travel Canada with good company, great conversation, and zero pressure to be anything but yourself.

It’s part destination blog, part retreat series, and entirely about connection—whether that’s over wine on a boat, laughter around a campfire, or swapping stories on a hiking trail. This isn’t about finding yourself. You already know who you are. This is about enjoying her—with women who get it.
About Me
Hi, I’m Candace—and I’m about the girls.

I always have been. Maybe it’s because I’m an only child, but I’ve spent most of my life building the sisterhood I never had. From the early days of blogging (yes, I was one of the OG mommy bloggers) to building an online community of over 600 Canadian moms, to running influencer campaigns for Sunwing, to my years on radio and now podcasting with What She Said, amplifying women’s voices has been the constant in every part of my journey.
Add in decades of friendship-fueled getaways, a deep love for Canada, and a serious case of extrovert energy (98% on a Myers-Briggs test if you’re wondering), and Girl Trips was inevitable.

It’s the culmination of everything: community-building, storytelling, travel, laughter, and connection.
This Isn’t Just a Travel Blog
Girl Trips isn’t a travel company (yet), and it’s definitely not a big corporate thing. It’s me—putting my passion for connection, Canada, and women-centred experiences into motion.
Right now, Girl Trips is:
- A gathering place for women who crave deeper connection and meaningful getaways
- A growing collection of travel stories, destination ideas, and trip inspiration
- An invitation to join real-world retreats that are planned and hosted by me—because sometimes, you just need someone to say, “I’ve got this, just show up.”
Where it goes next? We’ll figure that out together.

What I Bring (Besides a Clipboard and a Whistle)
I’m not here to pretend I’ve done this a thousand times. I’m building something new—and I might mess up along the way. But what I can promise is this:
- I know how to bring women together.
- I’m committed to making every Girl Trip unforgettable.
- And I’ll be the first one up dancing, or the last one handing out snacks on a trail (depending on the day).
How do my girlfriends describe me on a trip?
- “The laid-back organizer. Chillin’ with a plan.”
- “Clipboard, whistle, and a glass of sangria.”
- “Shenanigan co-ordinator.”
I’ll take it.

Why Now?
Because I’ve watched the online world evolve from a tool for adventure to a replacement for it. We used to make plans online to meet up in real life. Now we just scroll. We’re more connected, and yet less connected.
Girl Trips is my pushback. It’s about reminding us that joy, laughter, and real conversation happen when you’re off Wi-Fi and in the world.
A Few Rapid-Fire Truths
- Drink of choice? Sangria in summer, wine in winter, Black Russians if it’s really cold (don’t judge).
- Mountains or water? I plead the fifth. Canada gives me both.
- Carry-on or checked bag? I can do a carry-on. I just won’t like it.
- Favourite Canadian destination? Cape Breton. It’s in my blood. I hope to take you there someday.
- Dream trips? Tahiti for a Girl Trip. And every single Canadian province and territory—with the right group of women.
What I Hope You Feel
After reading a post here? Inspired to grab your bestie, mom, daughter—or go solo—and book the trip.
After joining a retreat? Recharged, hopeful, connected, and like you just found your people.

Because this is what Girl Trips is all about: taking up space in the real world with women who make you feel like the best version of yourself.
Let’s hang.
